Specialist in transfusion medicine and cell therapy, deputy department chair. Since 2000 medical director of the apheresis facility and the tissue & cell collection and processing facility. More recently head of ATMP manufacturing.
She is actively working in the EBMT as chair of the donor outcome committee and WBMT as chair of the graft engineering committee. She also joined the ISBT Working Party Apheresis Sub-Group recently.
Dr. Ana Kerguelen
Hematologist – MD in Molecular oncology
Hematologist at La Paz University Hospital (HULP) since 2010. She completed her training at the University of Texas (MD Anderson Cancer Center) and at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. In 2012, she defended her doctoral thesis, and in 2015, she completed a Master’s Degree in Molecular Oncology at the Center for Biosanitary Studies (officially recognized by Rey Juan Carlos University in 2018). Since 2016, She has been a staff member of the Transfusion Service at La Paz University Hospital and head of the Therapeutic Apheresis Unit.
Moderator
Gerda Leitner, MD, is an Associate Professor specializing in transfusion medicine and general medicine. She served as the Medical Director of the University Clinic for Blood Group Serology and Transfusion Medicine at the Medical University of Vienna in Austria, retiring at the end of 2021.
She is currently the President-Elect of the European Society for Hemapheresis and previously served as President of the Austrian Society for Blood Group Serology, Transfusion Medicine, Regenerative Medicine, and Immunogenetics (OEGBT). She now works as a freelancer with the Austrian Red Cross.
